Can anyone advise please why my echo keeps "dropping out" while playing the radio from Tune In,
the channel can play anywhere from a few minutes to seconds will stop playing again for a few seconds up to half a minute then resume play again, its positioned on the front of my bench in direct line with my hub.
It’s TuneIn. It can be a bit hit and miss from time to time. As this doesn't tend to happen when I directly connect a speaker via ethernet to the service it does when connected through my dots.
I have put this down to wifi interference.
The more wifi devices we have the more likely that wifi will not allow things to play nicely together.
do you have any other wifi devices w.g. Lights, thermostats etc as part of a “smart home” or dect phones, baby alarms, doorbells etc.. If you have then you have found the culprits and only by slow elimination can you pin down what may be happening.
if you do a wifi scan you will see what else is about, and if a neighbours router is in conflict by using the same channel.
as a “sign off” some radio channels on TuneiN are notorious for cutting in and out.
I have the same problem in that about an hour or so streaming a radio station from TuneIn, Alexa will abruptly stop playing. She can accept and execute any other commands except stream music thereafter, be it from TuneIn or Amazon Music. The only solution I can think of is to restart the device, which I am having to do several times a day. Anyone else experiencing the same?
