Hoping someone can help with the following problem that I am experiencing with my Echo devices. When giving commands such as play a certain song, or play audio book or radio station it works fine sometimes but not at other times. Also happens with 'sleep sounds skill'. I have deactivated skill and reconnected; I have rebooted the device but still having problems. Cant understand reason why sometimes it will work fine and other times it wont.
Echo hears my command and repeats/says it performing the task but then device goes silent.
I have found it depends how you ask something e.g. alexa, play bbc radio 2 in the kitchen always works. Play radio 2 in the kitchen usually works. Play radio 2 in kitchen is hit and miss. Running words together is hit and miss.
go through the cards on the app to see what commands get actioned and those that do not, and what alexa “hears”
you could experiment at first by speaking to Alexa as though it is an errant small child.
I have had several Kindle E-readers; sold a couple in car boot sales - had about 3 nicked - and I have one I was given for Xmas which is in daily use called "John's 2017 Kindle" or something which uses the same words, but I can't seem to find everything I've downloaded in my home list , so I have a feeling that one or two may have been downloaded into the wrong one, and are now walking around in somebody else's pocket - How can I cancel any previous model (except the 2017 model) and retrieve/return any books which don't show on my new 2017 model?
First go into “content and devices”Link go into your devices, find your device and write down the serial number. Next deregister it this will prevent anyone using it on your account Next contact Amazon using the “contact us” button then the option “prime and more” ask Amazon to block it, you will need to give them the serial number. This will prevent anyone registering it to a different account and using it. Retain the serial number in case you recover it and want it unblocked.
You can also send books to your devices from there assuming they are on the same account.
