can someone please tell me how to stop explicit lyrics being played on my daughters echo dot from prime music. If it is not possible I suggest amazon add it PDQ before I start a media campaign exposing this . Having my 7 year old daughter listen to ‘F@*k the police’ from a random music selection is something I am sure they would love to do a piece on, especially if the new google device can filter explicit lyrics, in the run up to Christmas when I am sure Amazon will be trying to sell lots of devices.
Before we begin, I'd just like to point you to the Amazon T's&C's for Echo/Dot music that explicitly state that:
"Who can be part of a Family plan?
Family members must be at least 13 years old."
So, now that elephant is out of the room let's continue :)
If you want to you can create a curated "playlist" for your little one to protect them from nasty words. You put the effort in and get a great, defined, refined and specific playlist that you authorise. Can't get much better can it?
If you give your little one a powerful device and say "do what you like" and are then surprised that things happen that are not what you are imagined is it really reasonable to complain to fellow Amazon customers?
And that is the second elephant in this room. We are just Amazon customers. Not Amazon. If you have a beef or a suggestion then contact Amazon directly. They seldom read these pages. Your comment may be really useful and valuable to Amazon, so tell them!
I must admit I am not an expert but I have just skimmed through the Google and Spotify pages and can not find any explicit guidance on "appropriate curated playlists" / "moderated playlists" / "child friendly playlists" or "exclude explicit songs". If you can point to any general areas to browse I would genuinely appreciate your kind guidance. With thanks. CW.
