I am trying to register my Echo Show. I have entered the correct username/email address and the correct password. I get the following message: Registration Error. There was an error registering your Echo Show. Please try later.
I recommend restarting your Echo Show to see if the issue persists. To restart the device, unplug the power adapter from the back of the device or from the wall outlet. Then plug the power adapter back in.
I have tried restarting the Echo Show a number of times, but no luck.
Thinking about it, I believe the problem is more basic: When I try to set up the device it goes through its normal start up procedure and asks me what language I want, but then it jumps straight to the registration page. It misses out the page where it should ask me for my WiFi password.
Therefore it cannot register as it is not connected to the internet. My other Dots and my Echo are working just fine.
Does this mean that somehow the software has become corrupted?
Mark Burnley exactly the same has happened to my daughters echo, not sure but I read somewhere that if it was bought for you through someone else’s amazon account and they didn’t specify it was a “gift” you can not register it in someone else’s name?
Did anyone get an answer to this? I too have the same problem after purchasing a second hand model. It worked fine at first but then has since decided to revert back to registration and won’t take my login detail.
