I have been able to import my contacts at some point in time, though I do not remember how I did it. The funny thing is that the imported contacts from my phone and the contacts list in the Alexa app are not the same. It seems that some of the contacts from the phone were not imported at all.
Also, when adding or updating contacts on my phone, they stay there. The Alexa app is never updated. I have tried changing Google Account contacts, but also contacts stored on my phone. Unfortunately, the net result is the same; nothing happens.
And how on earth do you delete a contact from the Alexa app? I have deleted contacts on the phone but nothing happens in the Alexa app.
I have installed the Alexa app from Googles Play Store on to my Huawei Honor 8 smart phone. Also, I have got an Echo Dot gen 2.
What I was trying to explain in my original post was that the contact list in my Alexa app is not even close to the contact list on my smart phone. Even though, I have imported the contacts into the Alexa app at some time.
And I am curious why quite a few of my phone contacts do not show up in the Alexa app?
Also, I am wondering how to sync (add/update/delete) contacts in my phone's contact list to the contact list of Alexa.
Hope this clarifies it. Otherwise, let me know and I'll try to elaborate.
You can't import contacts into the Alexa app, it takes them from your phones contact list and will only display those in the Alexa app that have an alexa app which is registered to a corresponding phone number that is in your app. The Alexa app will also only display the name that you have given the contact in your phone.
Compared the contents of a contact on the phone with one contact which was loaded and a contact which was not loaded. Then I realized that the contact list in the Alexa app seemed very old and outdated.
Lightning struck me! No, it cannot be? Then I remembered me having downloaded the Alexa app to my iPad as well. And when having a look at the contact list on my iPad it seems that this contact list is actually the one replicated to the Alexa app.
All of a sudden this makes sense. Now, I just need to try to get my phones contact list back to the Alexa app on the phone...
