Is it just me having a real issue with the Do Not Disturb (DND) feature?
I have an Echo and an Echo Show. The DND disturb feature has not been enabled on either device, meaning that both of them should be available all the time. The Echo is fine but the Show is causing me problems. In the settings on the Show itself I can see that DND is not enabled. In the Show settings in the Alexa app I can see that DND is not enabled.
However I am unable to drop in on my Show from my phone as "Kitchen Do Not Disturb" is greyed out. I also can't drop in on the Show from the Echo as it tells me "I cannot drop in on Kitchen because it is in Do Not Disturb mode."
This is driving me mad as I use the drop in feature a regularly. Don't tell me I'll actually have to walk from the sitting room to the kitchen to converse with my family ;)
@Ceresia: I have no idea at all since I have yet to go wild and purchase any of these devices. However, I am wondering what happens if you use the "announce" option? Just wondering if it would fail and say "blocked by DND" or something.
Probably no help at all, but possibly worth a try to see if it "unblocks" some strange gremlin?

I wonder why someone would follow their own alternative forum profile.
@CombatWombat: Many thanks for your suggestion. There is no problem with announcements - I can make announcements from the Show to the Echo and from the Echo to the Show. I can also make announcements from the Alexa app on my phone to both Echo devices. It's beyond odd that the Show is clearly online but not recognised by the Echo or the Alexa app.
