I'm trying to change the wi-fi network of a working Echo Dot (2nd gen). However I get stuck part way through the process.
The app asks me to connect to the dot's Amazon-XXXX network. I do this no problem and the dot acknowledges with a bong and tells me audibly it's connected and then to go back to the Alexa app. But then the app does nothing and I'm stuck on the screen as below.
The only options are "cancel setup" or or you scroll down "Don't see the orange light ring?". There is no option to continue.
If I hit cancel the Dot acknowledges that the connection is cancelled and re-connects to the original network. So clearly the dot is aware of the network connection but the app is failing to move on to the next stage in the process.
Unfortunately I was not able to try the link as it requires a PC with wi-fi and I only have a desktop with ethernet.
I have now got it to work. I just kept trying again and again and again. I think it worked on maybe the 20th attempt. It just seems to be a really really unreliable process. I did not knowingly do anything different.
