I'm looking for some advice on using Echo Dots to stream music in different rooms.
My two children each have an Echo Dot in their room and also ceiling speakers that are wired to a multi-channel amplifier in the living room. I'd like them to be able to play music through their ceiling speakers via Alexa. I think the cheapest way to set this up would be to connect two more Echo Dots (or Echo Inputs when they come out) directly to the amplifier - one for each child's room - and use the Echo Dots in the bedrooms to control these (e.g. "Alexa, play music in XXX's room").
What I'm struggling with is working out how I can allow the children to stream different songs at the same time.
Am I right in thinking that:
a) to get the Echo Dots in the bedrooms to "control" the Echo Dots attached to the amplifier in the living room, they need to be linked to the same Amazon account, or at least under the same Amazon Household account? And I can only have two accounts under an Amazon household?
b) to be able to stream to different songs in the two bedrooms at the same time, the two Echo Dots connected to the amplifier need to be linked to different Amazon accounts, so they then can then be linked either to separate Spotify accounts (under a Spotify family subscription) or an Amazon Unlimited Family account? Or is there a way to stream different songs on different devices at the same time under one Amazon account?
