The “Tap to Alexa” feature allows you to interact with Alexa via touch on an Echo device with a Screen, instead of your voice.
You can enable Tap to Alexa from the Accessibility section of the settings:
1. Swipe down from the top. 2. Select Settings and go to Accessibility. 3. Find Tap to Alexa and toggle the switch on.
NOTE: Enable Alexa Captioning separately to see responses on the screen.
Once enabled, a finger icon appears on the home screen that can be selected to start using Alexa. Tapping the icon opens a menu with different tiles you can use to interact with Alexa.
You can access popular items such as weather, timer, and traffic using default tiles, or create your own tiles for their own frequent interactions. You can even use the keyboard icon to type your question or request, just like you would ask by voice.
