Hi, hope someone can help with this. I have an Echo Plus and have just added two Dots. One thing I've noticed which I find odd is that they seem to have no oversight of what each other are doing. Given that Drop In is promoted as a feature, when a timer goes off on the Plus, I was expecting 1) that the Dots could mirror the alarm, and 2) that they could deactivate it. But the Dots have no record of any alarm. Is this working as intended? The different Echos can't coordinate?
Quick side question related to setting up Dots in different rooms - I find it a bit odd that that Drop In only works on an individual device, not a zone. So if I allocated a Dot to Front Room, and then want to Drop In on it from one of the other Echoes, I can't say "Alexa, drop in on front room" - if I do Alexa reports not having permission to do that. Instead I have to drop in on the name of the device, which can't be the same as the group name. So I end up having to say "drop in on Dot 2" or something unintuitive. How do others deal with this?
Thank you BlueoftheNight. I'm still experimenting with this stuff. No can absolutely see how all echoes mimicking could be a pain, but equally would seem plausible for echoes to understand each other's state (ie, broadcasting alarm) and be able to change them. From what I've tried so far at least, that's not the case.
