I purchased Echo Show (2nd Gen) from republe on-line auction website, device advertised as new and unsealed. Arrived in quoted condition but on setup fails to recognize my Amazon account. I’ve confirmed with the seller (who purchased it from amazon) that the device has been deregistered from his account. Still no-joy! On-line amazon troubleshooting recommends going into settings for a factory reset but I can’t get past the account registration. Can anybody offer any advice please? Is there an Amazon customer services you can call? Blowed if I can find a number lol, thanks in anticipation
thank you you for the prompt reply, unfortunately the echo won’t allow any interaction. It goes through the set up, connects to my WiFi then asks for my Amazon account details...input my email and password but then get the message that there is a problem with recognizing my account and I should try the set up again. I have tried unplugging and leaving overnight but to no effect! I can’t ‘pull’ down the screen or interact with Alexa and ask for the settings.
Puzzeled and frustrated...is the device defective?
There is no number to contact them, you need to go though this contact page https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/contact-us . You can request a call back, It can be tedious as support are based in another country and language and accent can frustrate. I find the chat works better albeit slower.
I have been having the same registration problem since the 14th Feb. I have made numerous calls to the help centre I have tried eveything they have told me to more times than I’ve had hot dinners. My device won’t register to my account I finally was told there was an issue and had a refurbished dot sent out but this is doing the same thing. I rang again on Sunday after going through the reset up process another 3 times and was then told the problem needed to be referred on and to keep my phone line free. I am now more than 48 hours since that call, I’ve heard nothing back from tech support and yesterday my mums echo dot which has been working fine whilst mine hasn’t on another floor in the house now has the same fault as mine. I’m relieved to see we are not the only ones as the call centre staff keep trying to blame our internet provider (Sky) even though we have full WiFi signal and every other electronic device in our household has a full signal including my Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. There are now quite a few posts from people with different devices having the same issue So i’m Trying to find someone who has managed to get this resolved.
