basically l have two Echo Dots on my account, my sister has just purchased her own and connected it to her own account, we want to be able to drop in to each other, l want to allow her to drop into either of my devices (bedroom or kitchen).
now originally l set it up in the Alexa app to allow her to drop in as a contact from my phone, however this only allowed her to drop in to my alexa named "bedroom", after speaking with support they told me to set up a household account, this has been done my options changed slightly, when l use the command "alexa drop in to kitchen" lm med with the reply along the lines of "do you mean kitchen or bedroom?" only to be followed by "l cannot find a device named kitchen" when l specify kitchen.. it sort of ends up in an endless loop of me saying kitchen then being told there is no such device.
the only thing tech support keeps saying is "you have to share your payment information with the whole household" this lm not willing to do because l dont want my sister using my gift card balances l have saved on my account nor do l want to accidentally use her card or visa versa, we both refuse that option for a permanent link of payment details, we only want to be able to drop into to each others devices be it in my case bedroom or kitchen. regardless l did do a 20m test with our accounts sharing payment information only to be met with it listing my devices and then telling me kitchen didnt exist so lm at a loss right now as to why it lists my devices then tells me it doesnt exist.
so its been several hours,suddenly despite my 2 devices originally being able to drop into my sisters device fine (my issue was originally that my sisters device couldnt specify which of my devices to drop into) now whenever l try dropping into hers instead of her device lm dropping into my other device... basically put l ask to drop into sister and lm getting kitchen or bedroom depending on which device lm trying to drop in from....
