I have a 3rd generation echo dot and whenever I ask her to play a xyz song by xyz artist, she replies with " I can't find xyz by xyz on Spotify". Also if I say lets say, "Alexa play songs by Queen" she replies, "I can't find songs by Queen" even though they are on spotiify. In addition if I go to the app and play a song and ask Alexa the name of it, she pronounces it exactly the same way as the one she says "I cant find xyz by xyz". Also, she can only find a few songs but thats it.
It is really frustrating since this is one of the things I got the echo dot for and it wont work.
Hey there @Oma. I am afraid I do not fully understand all of the services that Amazon provide using their remote devices such as DOT's etc.
To make my DOT play music I have to subscribe to an Amazon paid service - I pay for PRIME and it gives me lots of music. My mum gets Music Unlimited or whatever it is called at £3.99 a month and gets lots of music.
I think if you have not subscribed to any applicable Amazon service then your Amazon devices will not give you free stuff.
You may want to use the HELP link on every amazon web page to talk to an amazon rep who will be able to advise you on what options you have. (the call is free.)
thanks for answering. I have a premium spotify subscription and a few weeks ago, I would say "Alexa play songs by Drake" and she would play a song by drake. Now, if I ask the same thing to her, she replies "I cant find songs by Drake on Spotify".
The Spotify skill is where you should look to find answers to your Spotify issue. I suggest, first to check that your Spotify Premium credentials are still properly enabled in the Spotify skill in your Alexa app.
A useful page to support the linking of your Spotify credentials in the Alexa app.
