For the second time in a week my Echo Dot (3rd Gen) isn’t responding, just getting the ‘Sorry, I’m having trouble understand you right now.....’ response. Started about 2100 Friday night. Earlier this week I did a full reset and it then worked, but four days later it’s off again. Have turned it off this morning for a while but no difference. Is this my Echo Dot or is it Amazon having server problems?
Hey there @Marb. I don't remember how it was explained to me but there is a difference between being connected to the router and being connected to a working wi-fi service.
Well, you've tried the router option so I'm afraid I'm out of ideas.
Unless it's a new router or BT / Virgin Super Hub in which case you may need to check the appropriate BT or Virgin help forums to see how to turn off the Automatic setup options and/or split and rename the twin band connection options (if either of these have been turned on by a recent Router update.)
You may also want to check and interference from new Tivo / DECT Phone / Blueray / Hi-fi equipment placed near your router of Echo.
Edit: Oh, just remembered another error - reset a DOT at a family members home and the thing got confused between my Fire and theirs. Not sure how or if you need to but maybe check there is not a Fire or other alternative Amazon account device close to the Dot confusing it?
