I live in the UK and when I ask "Alexa, what time is sunset?" I get an incorrect answer, for example, it answers "....local sunset time in your area is 2.45pm"
Firstly, I'm not sure where in the world they have a sunset at that time, but that's another matter.
However, if I ask, "Alexa, what is the UK sunset time?" I get the correct time of around 8.50pm
Obviously, I've checked all my regional/time settings and they are correct and Alexa does report the correct time when asked.
This happens on multiple devices in my home including my mobile phone via the Alexa app.
At the moment this is not too important but in the event of new Alexa skills such as "turn lights on at sunset" it would be nice to know that when I get home my house has not been lit up like a lighthouse since lunchtime.
I'm sorry you're getting an incorrect sunset time. You may have followed these steps already when you checked your regional/time settings, but just in case please double check your Alexa Device location is set correctly with these steps in your Alexa app:
Select the Devices icon .
Select your device, and then Device Location
Enter your complete address, and then select Save. To change the country, select Change next to the country name.
Note: If you have multiple Alexa devices on your Amazon account, make sure to update the location for each device.
