I have a Echo Dot which is working fine. However, I also have an Echo Plus which won't work. It just says, 'Sorry, I didn't get that, the internet is not reachable'. A look on the internet suggests that the problem might be with my BT Hub; some suggest that settings need to be changed. Can anyone help please?
I have been going round in circles for days trying to get Echo Plus to connect to the internet. The first one connected first time but subsequently Alexa said she could not contact the internet. Amazon sent me a replacement Echo Plus and I was mightily pleased when it connected first time. I asked Alexa to check for software updates and she found one which was installed.
From then on the new Echo Plus was exactly the same as the first - Alexa could not connect to the internet. Thanks to your post I checked my router settings. I already knew I had split the two 2.4 and 5 ghz bands and renamed them differently. However I was not aware of the Smart setup which was set to ON. I switched it OFF, reset the Echo Plus and it connected and worked.
I was about to send the second Echo Plus back to Amazon and demand a refund. However, thanks to your knowledgeable answer I have (at the moment at least) the working Echo Plus that I had hoped for. Many, many thanks
