I've got 2 Echo dots and a firestick. All work without any issues so why is my new Echo Show not connectiing to the internet? The Show is connected to my router (the router displays it as a connected device).
I can't reset register or deregister it without it completing the setup, so What do I do now???
I don't think the issue is anything to do with the router because I currently have two echo dots, a sonos one and a firestick all connected and working.
if I look at the BT hub's admin pages it lists the Show in the list of connected devices. I can get a connection on both 2.4 and 5g. However, the Show itself thinks that it can't connect to the network/ internet.
I think there is a config issue with the Show itself. (If it was a PC it would be like not being able to access DNS because it was set to a static address when it actually needed to be using DHCP).
What I'm trying to find, is a way of either getting past the setup wizard or doing a factory reset using the buttons on the Show..
Failing that then this is a DOA and I'll have to send it back.
I left it disconnected it from the power adapter for 24 hours and tried again this morning.. Strangely it started up as a virgin unit, asked me to register it (it has never done that before) and immediately connected to the internet (it obviously remembered something).
Anyway, it has done a software update and is now working as expected.
