Hi- I have purchased Philips white bulbs for 9 lights in my kitchen- they used to all work flawlessly when I asked echo to turn on the kitchen lights- recently they have become unresponsive?? Frustrated... These bulbs and unit were very expensive...😥 Just hoping someone can help me correct this..it was awesome when it worked..I tried to rediscover to no avail
I'm sorry you are having the light issue. Please try the below steps, i hope that will fix the issue:
If Alexa discovers your smart home devices but doesn't process your request, make sure that the names of your devices are easy to understand and try to rename it.
If renaming doesn't work, try these additional steps:
1. Visit Amazon Alexa from a desktop browser and log in using your Amazon account credentials.
2. Go to the "Smart Home" section, and disable the Phillips Hue or WeMo skill.
3. Select "Devices," and then select "Forget device" for each Phillips Hue or WeMo light.
4. From the menu, go to "Skills" and enable your smart home skill again. Follow the instructions to link your Phillips Hue or WeMo account to your skill.
Make sure your lights are connected and turned on. Alexa automatically performs a rediscovery of your devices, but you can also choose to do the rediscovery with your voice or in the Alexa App. The rediscovery takes 20 seconds.
Once the rediscovery is complete, you'll see your lights listed under the devices section of your Smart Home tab and in your Alexa App. Try controlling the lights by voice. For example, say "Alexa, turn off (device name)." If you're able to control your lights now, you've successfully reset your skills and related devices.
