I have bought an Echo Dot for my son for his birthday. However, I thought that I could set up a teen account under "Household" and he could login that way but it doesn't seem possible.
Therefore, how can he set it up without giving him a full Amazon account? Alternatively, can I create a new account but add parental controls to it e.g. turn off right to buy?

The option of a Teen Log-in, is not available in the UK (only available in the US on amazon.com).
The Teen-Log-in is not a separate 'account,' it's part of the adult Amazon account on which it was created and is solely for the purpose of purchasing physical goods and the sharing of some Prime membership videos. If you opt to create a new Amazon account for him, which you'd monitor, it would function independently of your Amazon account, and could not be linked to yours if your Amazon account is already linked to another in an Amazon Household (limit two adult Amazon accounts). The ability to implement Parental Controls would depend on the devices being used. Hopefully another forum member can elaborate on that process.
