Sometimes, when on my DOT I ask it to play records that I have purchased from Amazon on Amazon Music, it just plays the album.
Other times it comes back with some script voice "you muct download and link MyMusic app to your Amazon account".
Just looked at mymusicalexa web page and (a) it's not secure and (b) it's a fee based skill.
Is it right that Amazon expect me to buy some other skill or app or whatever it is to play my music purchased from Amazon, held on my Amazon account in my Amazon Cloud on my Amazon Dot?
Do I really have to do it?
Prefacing by saying I don't use Alexa-enabled devices.
CW, you've mentioned 'myMedia,' 'MyMusic app,' and 'mymusicalexa.'
Alexa sources online. Are you certain all the music you're requesting from Alexa is stored in your Amazon account (cloud)? The 'mymedia' skill allows you to source music locally (like your PC). If you want to access music stored someplace other than where Alexa defaults, you'd need a skill to facilitate the process and that skill, mymedia, has a fee attached to it, albeit nominal. BTW, 'mymediaalexa' has a website (for the 'mymedia' skill); not seeing one for 'mymusicalexa.'
