I'm planning on purchasing an Amazon Echo Dot soon but I just wanted to make sure Alexa is able to do everything I want it to do.
I usually turn off my wall socket at night that my PC is connected too. If I was to get a Smart Socket that works with Alexa and plug my PC into that would I be able to set up a command that first turns on that socket and then turns on my PC? Of course, this is because if the socket is switched off then Alexa won't be able to turn on my PC as my PC won't have any power.
I'm not sure if it is a BIOS feature on newer PC's these days but the BIOS on older mainboards had an option to power up the PC when the power is restored. The best thing to to go into the BIOS setup and check for any "Wake Up" options. My home server has a "Wake up on power restore" option so if there is a a power outage, for example, it will power on and boot up automatically when the power comes back on.
