When I use wake up word “Alexa” and try to play a song or ask the time, Echo lights up blue but does nothing. This is regular now and before said I have unplugged for over 30 secs and I have also done a full reset Both with no fix.
My WiFi is stable I use virgin media and other devices are connected fine. I am fed up now as I do not know what else to do.
I'm sorry you're having this issue with Alexa! Thank you for sharing the steps you've already tried. I want to clarify - by full reset do you mean a factory reset where you set up the Echo device again like it was new? If not, please let us know which Echo device you have and we can offer the right steps for a factory reset, as this would be the recommended next step.
If you have already done the factory reset, verify that the volume is turned all the way up on your Echo and if you have any Bluetooth devices connected, please disconnect them and try your request again. If you have the same behavior after these steps, please reach out directly to our Echo team here for live troubleshooting.
I purchased second hand echo dot2. After a few days Alexa went offline and only blue lights was blinking. Couldn't perform reset -> mic+vol down or pressing action button to access setup mode.... Checked wifi and did reset my router and made address reservation forecho dot2. Nothing happens, echo dot2 blue lights on and blinking and I almost lost my hope. Then I tried echo dot2 with another USB power supply (It's MUST have a 2A port!!!) and that worked. Echo dot2 started up and worked just fine without any problems. I'm not sure but all the bizarre problems caused by ORIGINAL power supply (gives power and you thinks PSU is ok... Echo dot2 gone faulty, too much usage by kids... I also have Echo dot3 and there is a different kind of power supply connector microUSB connector.... Try to change your original power supply and remember that it needs that 2A USB port. Sometimes there are two ports on PSU device -> one for 1A and one for 2A. Be sure to choose right port for your echo dot2. Hope this might help someone. Almost couldn't sleep figuring out this problem. It's frustrating to see blue lights on dot but no actions taken. Alexa Echo Dot2 problem solved.
