I recently bought an Echo connect on impulse when they were in a sale, despite many of the reviews saying the sound quality was really poor and that they could be temperamental to set up.
I got it set up easily enough, but my dad is a bit hard of hearing and after a few attempts it became clear that he hated me calling him on it. My mum is a bit more resilient but I can tell she's almost as unimpressed.
Shame, as I use speakerphones all the time at work, as well as VOIP and generally the sound quality is fine.
So what's the issue here? Is it a "generation thing" or is the voice calling sound quality really that bad on an Echo? I have never been on the receiving end of a call from an Echo, so its a bit hard for me to judge.
