Hi, I've setup my 4k fire stick and echo plus as a home theater system. It mostly works ok, however I now have the following issues. If I play Spotify the echo plus will no longer respond to voice commands to stop playing audio. The only way I can make the audio stop is to use the fire stick remote. I also have issues of the fire stick is turned off, I was expecting the echo plus to just act as a stand alone echo, as it did before adding it to the theatre setup, if I ask it to play music, it says it is playing Spotify, but nothing plays. It seems to work a bit better if I ask it to play Spotify and also include the device name, but I never has to do this before adding it to the home theater setup. Has anyone got any tips please? Thanks.

Hey Ms30, Sorry to hear you are having trouble playing Spotify. Please try unlinking the Spotify Skill from the Alexa app by navigating Menu > Settings > Music > Spotify > Disable Skill. Then re-enable the Spotify Skill and connect your accounts.
Let me know if this helps, and welcome to the Amazon forums!

Hi, thanks for your advice, but unfortunately it hasn't fixed the issue. I've also tried deregistering the echo, but I'm still having issues. Maybe a software update will fix the issue. Thanka
I set it up in the Alexa app by selecting devices, then add, then 'set up audio system'. I've had to reset everything this morning and it is now reporting the the sound system is off line. I'm hoping an update will fix everything.

How have you set up your Home Theatre system?
I have tried to set my system up to play fire tv audio through my echo stereo sub pair but have had no success.
I assume you have tried all the "turn off then on again", "reset your Echo", stuff.

Just found the set up, thanks.

Using 5GHz should be best, except that my Echo 2nd Gen can't seem to see it. Only the 2.4GHz.
Is that the same for all?
I have only a small flat and small living room so it should not make much difference.
Open firewall ports??? How on earth can a normal person do this without messing everything up?
We aren't all techies.
I know a little.
