I was unable to download the Alexa app on my dad's two devices so set it up on my iPhone. We don't live together. How do I remove my account from the Alexa settings but add my dad's?
Hey there @Helen - I think I had exactly the same problem as you, but I went about it the other way. Mum has an older Fire which can host some bits of Alexa but can not be used to set it up on a DOT.
I went round there and registered my current generation Fire to her Amazon account and used it to set up her Dot on her Amazon account. (It also meant I could finally learn how to spell her account the right way to send her gift tokens!)
I then left her, her Dot and her account alone and set Banana Fire back to my account.
It does mean that if there is a Restore Factory Defaults or some major issue I do need to return and sign in again, but that only happened once in two years :)
Hope this offers a logical solution for you :) Regards, CW.
Edit: I initially tried to "share" a Prime account but found the confusion too much to bother with. The only thing she wanted was access to the basic music subscription and at £3.99 a month it seemed a small price to pay.
