We're not getting any response in the Search field when the keyboard is used. However, go into Silk and search and the keyboard works fine. This only happens on my wife's profile. My (main) user profile is unaffected.
That is indeed the universal search box to search Web, Amazon and My Stuff.
I don't understand why it's not working and can't even suggest anything :( I've assumed you have tried the normal fixes of the 30 second reset and/or factory default restore. It's down to contacting Amazon using their help button and navigating their help questions starting at PRIME OR MORE and then hitting random "other" answers until you get invited to echat or have Amazon call you back for free.
