The Fire is basically an Android tablet so depending on where you go on the Internet there is a possibility of getting a virus etc you could get these two. Probably malware is more likely than a virus.
I do not have an android device, but for windows PCs many free versions of anti-malware programmes only have a scanning capability and do not provide continuous real-time protection, only a daily scan or scan on demand.
I do have Malwarebytes and I paid once for a lifetime product with unlimited updates. It seems an effective product as far as I can tell, and certainly seems to have a good reputation.
Thanks i will be taking fire tablet out of the country so want something to protect it when i use the hotels free wifi for protection so would malwarebytes do this then ?
REMEMBER nothing will protect you if you connect to a dodgy WiFi and the owner wishes to intercept data etc.
Malwarebytes does not provide virus protection it only protects against dodgy programmes that try and steal info etc.
For virus protection Bitdefender was the best I could find on the Amazon store.
You need both if you are worried.
The risk is low and I have neither on my Fire tablet, unless you keep important things on it (you should always back up) if anything goes wrong you can always do a factory reset wind up with a clean empty tablet and start again.
