My Kindle has been stuck for 3 days on Optimising system storage and applications screen. I've tried switching off, holding down On/Off button, etc. Nothing works.
Hello AMLC, Welcome to Amazon Digital and Device Forum!
Plug in your device using the USB cord or power adapter that came with it. Let the device charge for 30 minutes, unplug it, and then try to restart again. Press and hold, or slide and hold, the Power button for a full 40 seconds, even after the screen goes blank, then let go. Press or slide the power button to restart if the device does not start up again on its own.
If the issue persists, try a Factory Reset. Resetting your device will remove your personal information (including your settings for Parental Controls), Amazon account information, Wi-Fi settings, and any downloaded content.
Ensure the device is completely turned off with no activity, then press the following key combination: POWER + VOLUME_DOWN. Release the buttons after five seconds. Once in Recovery Mode, use the volume keys to navigate to the Factory Reset option and use the power key to select that option.
Let me know if this works and share with the forum how you resolved the problem so this can be a resource for other forum members with similar issues!
