We have 3 Kindle Fire HD 10s for the kids (one each to avoid a world war three event) and have setup time restrictions on their profiles to prevent them from being glued to a screen for too long. However, the kids have discovered that if they swap profile on their particular Kindle (as it were) for one of their siblings, they effectively get more time because their Kindle device isn’t taking into account the time their sibling has used on the other Kindle device. Aside from setting a pin for each child and never letting them know what it is (which becomes a constant game of cat and mouse like something from Escape to Victory), is there any way of preventing this loophole? Is there a way of locking a profile to a single Kindle device?
Any advice would be gratefully received because we’re fast approaching Easter and I can foresee it being a far more pressing issue.
I believe I do have a solution for you! Let's check out these instructions for hiding profiles (yay) below:
How to hide / remove multiple profiles from the login screen
This is to hide the other kids profiles so they don’t go into each others profiles and have access to content or time assigned that was not selected for them. It also prevents the child from downloading apps across many profiles:
Settings – profiles & family library – select the profile to hide – untick “show profile on lock screen” – confirm to hide profile on lock screen
Please let us know if this resolves this issue for you and staves off an Easter time war for you and the family! Cheers! Also, welcome to the digital and device forums! Usually a peer or fellow customer has an amazing answer on here for any and all kinds of issues, so you're certainly in the right place for advice and guidance!
