I have kindle 5th gen, i cant seem to get the books i have on my sd card which are in mobi format to all appear in books. the books are deffinality on sd card because i downloaded es file manager and all the books are showing on there. anyone know a way to solve this?
I have Amazon fire kindle 5th gen. It has a micro sd s!ot on the side. Only some books are showing from sd card in books on home screen but if I go to file manager app it shows all the books on the card and I can open them.
the 5th Gen Fire is not called a Kindle. so you have a Fire 5th Gen (possibly a Fire HD - see image) and again you will not see your mobi books under the Books tab no matter what your do as they are considered Docs. The information for sd cards says:
You can install apps and games, download music, videos, books, and audiobooks, and store photos and personal videos on an external microSD card. Silk browser downloads and email cannot be stored on a MicroSD card.
it says books which means books purchased from Amazon. Mobi books are not books, they are Docs and you need to store them on the device itself unless you want to keep using them the way you're doing righ now. And you will have to use the Docs app to open them
that will not work either as they will still not be purchases from Amazon. Again:
Books = books purchased from Amazon
Docs = books from other sources and personal documents
You can install, download, or store certain content on an external microSD card
You can install apps and games, download music, videos, books, (this means books purchased from Amazon) and audiobooks, and store photos and personal videos on an external microSD card. Silk browser downloads and email cannot be stored on a MicroSD card.
To add, if you don't move them to your documents folder on your internal storage (where they will end up if you send them to your @kindle.com address), simply tap on the .mobi book (via ES File Explorer) and it will open in the Kindle reader...
