One of my kids was playing with the tablet, switched to one of the kids profile, and entered an incorrect password who knows how many times. Now that I the adult have recovered the tablet, I see a dialog that says Incorrect Password ... If you cannot remember the password for your Profile, you can wait for 1 hour or try again. Then at the bottom it says Wait with a countdown.
The problem is there are no actions I can actually perform except to wait. No swipes, button pushes, or anything else does anything. If I reset power, I get back to the same wait dialog.
As the adult, I would expect to be able to change to the adult profile, enter the adult password which I do know and then return things to normal. Hey, I even remember the password for this child profile as well, but I am not given the opportunity to enter it. If I go online and login, there is no setting which allows me to correct matters for my registered tablet. Remote lock looks like it might work, but I don't want to create new passwords because I remember all the passwords.
Are there any actions that I can take to bypass the Wait screen? Is this normal to face this Wait dialog on the Fire Tablet where no actions can be performed? Probably by the time I get a response, the wait will have timed out, but for next time ...
The only option would be to reset the tablet to factory defaults. This prompt should appear on screen. If you can't see it, it may be hidden underneath the keyboard - try hitting the back button to dismiss the on-screen keyboard. Factory resetting would remove all content, settings and Amazon account registration.
