My daughter turned on her Fire this morning and discovered her profile wasn’t available. I checked the profile settings and found it was no longer available on the lock screen. I re-enabled it, logged her in and started Re-downloading her apps. After a few moments it auto-switched back to my account. When we looked, her profile had disappeared again. I checked the profile settings and found the same lock screen setting had reset to not visible. We’ve tried this a few times now, powering off and back on at different points in the process to see if that would help resolve the issue, but we get the same behaviour every time.
She has been using the device with no problems for several months now, and my other daughter’s device, bought at the same time, is working normally.
Can anyone help me resolve this? I have a very frustrated young lady at the moment!
I'm having this exact same problem with my son's profile on his Kindle Fire 7, it's been fine for months and just this morning he wasn't able to get to his profile. I've gone through the same troubleshooting as MacduMela with the same results. I'm guessing the profile has been corrupted somehow. My son is pretty upset because it seems like he's lost weeks of progress in a game he had been playing.
I thought so too, SmashAdam4, but I’ve done a factory reset of the device, and it’s still happening. So if it’s a corrupt profile then the corruption is being held and synced from the Amazon servers. I’ll post here when I see how I get on reporting it through the link shared in the above reply.
Exact same issue. One of my fires is fine. The other one refuses to hold on to the child profile for more than a minute. I have tried de-registering and re-registering my account. Factory reset. Nothing. there must have been an update that’s broken it.
4 kids, 4 kindle fire 7 tablets. Same issue on all of them! I unhide the kid profile and it goes away again in a few minutes. I hope they fix this soon.
I’m having the exact same issue. I phoned amazon and was told to do the reboot and try and remove and add my account. It’s still doing it. I’m thinking this may be a bigger issue as it seems to be happening internationally. I did a search this morning and there are a lot of reports from about the last 15 hrs.
Not much help I'm afraid, but having the same problem with my 4 year olds fire 7 tablet (but not with my other daughters for some reason).
As said before, looks like it's a problem with Amazon as I've seen a couple of threads online about it. Hopefully it'll be sorted by the morning or will give them a call again.
I had a similar problem, spent several hours trying to resolve the issue. Come to find out there were 3 Updates for the Fire Tablet. These don't seem to get auto-updated unless the parent logs into their profile for a period of time and doesn't use the device. I simply forced the updates through the Settings, the problem when away after the updates were applied.

MacduMela,
You will need to contact Amazon technical support via the help links in the main Amazon pages.

An update happened yesterday (16th nov) and now once you unhide the profiles, they seem to be working again
