Living in the republic of Ireland. I followed the instructions to change to the UK but still getting error code 5505. The links provided above in the earlier comments from the staff member are pretty useless....any other suggestions?
Tried all the steps suggested above but I still have troubles and get Error Code 5505 when I try to stream ANY Amazon Prime Video content (even Amazon original content!)
Someone suggested to make sure the Default Digital Payment form belongs to the same Country of your Amazon registration (i.e.: if you are a UK Amazon Prime member, make sure the credit card you are using to pay for digital content is registered in the UK. For some reason, that matters.)

I got no luck, though. Any other suggestion?
You cannot stream Prime videos from Italy as it only available in the UK. So Prime membership is no use to you I would cancel it. I don't know if that also applies to ROI, but should work in NI.
"Check Your Location – Also make sure you're accessing Prime Video from an eligible location. Due to licensing agreements, Prime Video is only available to customers located in the United Kingdom,"
I can view Prime using my DVD player but my new Fire TV is still giving me Error Code 5505. I did use to live in the US but my current location shows as the UK and I successfully migrated everything to amazon.co.uk but still unable to view on Fire TV. Restarted, factory reset, no joy.
I can get BBC etc, it is only Prime that won't play.
5505 simply means you account thinks you are not in the uk. nothing more.
if you have lived somewhere else or done something clver then use the HELP button on the amazon web page and they will help you reset your account, your device or something.
You would need to talk to the relevant Amazon help desk people to work out what MIGRATION of your account would do to your purchased stuff. For example you can never migrate from Amazon China to anywhere.
Sorry, not much help but your question is very large and needs Amazon support. Good luck.

I wonder why someone would follow their own alternative forum profile.
If I change the country as suggested would I loose anything installed already on the stick or will Be exactly the same ? Thank you
No content is stored on the device. It's used for streaming. As CW points out, what you'll be able to access in another location (you don't say where) will depend on applicable geographic restrictions.
This is the same problem here in Republic of Ireland. If there is an official Amazon prime in the country Amazon must support it in their devices otherwise don't sell it. The problem is only in the Fire TV 4K (in my case) for any my other devices, ANY is working as expected. And the worst was at the beginning when I bought was working in my Fire TV 4K device and suddenly has stopped and there is NO solution.
I already open tickets to support but the answer was "Sorry there is no solution for now".
Hey there @LEONARDO. There are several threads covering use of the FIRE STICK/PRIME within the EU.
I am ashamed and afraid I do not understand the difference between EU and Eire.
Perhaps using the Amazon HELP / Devices and more / other / other talk to me for free option will allow you talk to talk to an amazon helper who can give you a detailed reply?

I'm based in Ireland and have the same issue, one work around is to do download the prime video app. You can connect any movie or TV show from the app to the fire stick, not ideal but still.
Help please,
I cannot view shows on fire stick as keep getting error code 5505 - location issues.
Any ideas what i need to do?
Thanks

I'm having the same problem. Device settings are definitely UK, I've followed all recommended steps, but nothing works.

Hey @Furia: Post is a a "blast from the past" :)
Your Amazon stuff is on your account.
