Currently watching The X Files. I'm on season 6 but every time i click resume it keeps putting my on an episode on season 9. I've tried removing from watch list but still wrong. Any advice?
I have just looked at X-Files and it is queued up ready to resume Episode 1, Season 6. I think I last watched it a month or so ago so it does seem to retain information for some time. HOWEVER, I do know that I have only watched X-Files on one specific Fire tablet.
Looking at other Films they seem to be correct for "resuming", and these may have been watched on a variety of Fire devices and apps.
Saying that, "Cold in July" was at "start again" on the TV app, "resume" on the Stick and started from the beginning on a tablet.
Lucifer starts on Season 1 E1 on the Stick and Season 3 E1 on a Tablet.
I'm wondering if there is any link to resume / continue / next in season and watching series on different devices?
Noting @AM Jess's suggestion on how to clean up I'm going to try it on devices and see if that has any beneficial result.

I had a similar problem with trying to watch Vikings where somehow it kept resuming an episode in the 5th season instead of episode 3 in the first season.
To fix it (without deleting all viewing data), I chose "watch from beginning" for the season 5 episode that it was trying to resume. I then stopped playing during the Sneaky Pete advert that played before the episode.
