Hi to you all. Apologies for being centuries behind. I had an Alexa speaker brought for me at Christmas. I have the Amazon Prime and listen to a lot of music but thought the subscription was wasted, why not watch tv. But how the heck can I do this?? Do I need to purchase a fire stick? Now tv? I just do not have a clue! I thought I had a normal tv but apparently upon googling it, it is smart tv enabled (but I have not updated it as yet, another job for another day!) so on the basis of a normal tv and digital service via Virgin (Tivo 6, I think!) but when I have googled apparently Virgin do not support Amazon Prime??! Absurd. Although there is the Heyu channel or what ever it is called but I am under the impression that that is again paying out more money on a subscription? I did try to google but loads of people saying all different things. I just want an easy (pref nish or cheap as poss) way to get the most from my Prime. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Surely a Firestick or Now tv have channels on it already ?? See, sorry I don't have a clue. Please answer and explain to me like I am either 4 or 94! In fact they would probably be more clued up than me. Many Thanks. M
There are 3 ways without buying a fire stick, if you have a smart tv you can either use the "prime app" that was pre installed, if it was not there you can probably download it.
Method two using a PC or anything that can access the Internet use this link and watch directly Prime videos if your smart TV has a browser you can also use method 2. Just use the browser to log on to your Amazon account then click on "your prime" towards the top right of the screen
Method three if you have an android or apple device (phone, tablet etc) download the app from "google play" or whatever the Apple store is.
Buying a fire stick is much easier but I would certainly look at it first to make sure you would make enough use of it to buy one. They cost £39.99 for the basic one or £49.99 for the posh one that can view 4K both have voice control.
Hi Bob. Thank you very much. Sorry it was long winded. I just feel my Prime is wasted on music alone, and tv is naff atm. Yes I did think about getting a firestick to be honest but I'm thinking I may give updating my tv a go first just to see. Although I am thinking on buying a new bigger tv. But I will try your methods and hopefully get to watch some of the great stuff I've seen on there. Thanks so much for replying and so quickly. much appreciated
