Having some Wi-Fi connection problems on 2 gen firestick. It is connected to 5 ghz. Loses connection from time to time. Will buying an HDMI extension cable improve wifi?
What about an Ethernet cable? I know nothing about these.. Do they have to connect from router to fire stick and tv? If so router is prob too far away( 15 feet).

You may do better using 2.4Ghz it has greater range and will have adequate speed.
An extension HDMI cable could help so you can move the stick away from the back of the TV, and higher if possible. TVs are great at blocking WiFi.
An Ethernet cable between the stick and your router would be the most reliable BUT you will have to buy the correct Amazon Ethernet adapter.
15 feet would be no problem it will work far further than that.
Bob. Sorry for such a daft question but the ethernet. Adaptor plugs into both router and fire stick. Does the fire stick still have to be plugged into TV? Thus needing a cable running across room from router to TV.

Yes the stick remains plugged into the TV the adapter plugs into the stick and the Ethernet cable plugs into the adapter the Ethernet cable then plugs into a spare port on your router. Depending on who supplied the router it may not have spare ports in which case you would need a switch at the router end.
