To create a speaker set for Home Theatre:
Connect your Fire TV device and Echo device(s) to the same network and Amazon account.
In the Alexa app, tap on the Devices icon on the lower right-hand side and then tap the “+” icon on the upper right hand side.
Tap “Set Up Audio System” from the popup and then tap “Home Cinema” on the next screen.
Select your Fire TV device and then “Next” to name your new Home Theatre system.
Select the Echo devices you would like to use as speakers – you can set-up up to two speakers, plus an optional Echo Sub.
Follow the on-screen instructions, and fire up the popcorn!
Once you enable your speaker system, manage your Home Theatre settings on your Fire TV.
Go to Settings > Display & Sounds > Home Theatre System.
Gaming Audio: Enable this setting to ensure optimal audio quality only when gaming. This setting uses your TV speakers and should be disabled when you are not gaming.
Volume Control: Allows your Fire TV remote to control the volume of your Home Theatre System.
Lip Sync Tuning: Use this setting if you notice inconsistencies between the audio you hear and the action seen on screen.
Is there a reason the regular fire stick is not compatible with this? I recently bought the regular one because I don’t have a 4K TV. Is there something technically different about the 4K model in regards to this feature?
This does nothing for me, I want to stream a show on my TV and let it come through all the speakers in the house, again through ALL the speakers in the house, not 1 or 2 , or 1 with a sub bla bla bla, hey designers do you not have an Alexa in your house? do you not watch TV and say hey this is be great if the speakers floats through the whole entire house so when I got to get up and go get a drink out in the kitchen or I'm having a party and I want to play a concert on my TV it would come through the whole entire house, I'm slowly realizing through the headaches and the BS that this wireless speaker smart house BS is nothing more than a scam, going back to old school wired speakers everywhere with a amp and room switches

I totally agree.

Full wireless already available. Wherever you want it. It’s called Sonos. Been around for 15+ years. And with proper home theatre.
your ideas should be sent to the Amazon team, and not in a customer forum, so they may improve your experience to your satisfaction.
I have tried to set this up. But can not get it working.
i have the latest 4K Fire TV stick along with two Echo 2nd gen and an echo sub.
when I use the create home theatre option I can select my Fire TV stick but the sub pair says incompatible.
ive tried resetting and also unpairing all devices but this doesn’t work either,
any one with any ideas?
Hello Usehgal,
Welcome to the Forums!
I recommend performing the following troubleshooting:
Make sure that your devices are registered to same account.
Check that your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network and frequency band.
Check the appstore on your mobile device to make sure the Alexa app is updated.
Force close the Alexa app.
Make sure that your devices are on the latest software version. For Echo devices, say "Check for software updates." For Fire TV, go to Settings > My Fire TV > About > Check for Updates.
Please let me know if you continue to experience this issue.
I have the same issue. If I remove the sub from the stereo pair then the two echos appear in the app. When I put the sub back in the stereo pair it says incompatible again. It is as though the sub hasn’t got the new firmware or something is up with compatibility with the sub.

Sticking some stereo speakers onto your TV is NOT home theatre.
home theatre requires rear speakers - a minimum of 4.1 - the 1 being optional
what about the link amp?
Nah. 2.1 won't cut it for me. Lemme know when it's 5.1+ and I'll be all over it like a magnet on metal.
