i have a New Paperwhite, 10th gen. I keep my books are all in collections and have had no problems with this until now. Books I have bought recently go into the collections when I put them there but aren’t staying there. If I close my Kindle when I open it again the books are no longer in the collections. I am connected to WiFi and it is only recent purchases doing this. Anyone know what is causing this and how I can sort it?
Make sure that Whispersync for Books is enabled on your Kindle. From the Home screen, select Menu > Settings > Device Options > Advanced Options. If Whispersync for Books is Not Enabled, tap this option and select Enable.
Make sure that Whispersync Device Synchronization is enabled on your Amazon account. From your computer, go to Manage Your Content and Devices and select the Preferences tab. Under Device Synchronization (Whispersync Settings), verify that Whispersync Device Synchronization is turned ON.
Check the status of your wireless connection. You can view the wireless indicators from Home or any Settings screen. If you're reading, tap the top of the screen to view the indicators. .
Check your software version. If your Kindle is not on the latest software version, update your device to the latest available version. To learn more, go to Fire and Kindle Software Updates.
Manually sync your device. While reading, tap the top of the screen to view the reading toolbar, tap the Quick Actions (cog) icon, and then tap Sync My Kindle.
I really hope that helps! If it doesn't - try checking your collections from another compatible device and see if they are showing properly there - then we can see if this issue is specific to your Paperwhite or on your account in general. If you don't have another device handy - I recommend reaching out directly to our Kindle team so they can pull up your account and take a look.
also, don't change the sort from Collections to Recent, Title or Author as that will immediately show them outside the Collection. Updates have been known to do this. I have had a problem with one or two books not "sticking" but usually after a reboot and a sync, they will stay in the Collection
I do have a LOT of books. That is why I bought the new Paperwhite as it had a much bigger capacity for books. I am an avid reader and have taken advantage of the free books available as well as those on limited offer.
