I have just bought the new Paperwhite and paid the extra £10 for the unsubscribed version. Having set it up there appear to be just as many " suggestions" on the home screen as my old subscribed kindle. Have I done something wrong setting it up?. I thought it would already be done and if it is I feel I may have been conned into spending £10 because there doesn't seem to be any difference. I would appreciate your thoughts please.
it's quite simple, you're looking at Amazon's "spiffy" new Home page - if you turn that off in your settings, you won't see that stuff
Home Page --> 3 dots in upper right of tool bar --> Settings --> Device Options --> Advanced Options --> Home & Library --> Home Screen View = Off
Amazon seems to think that the Home Screen View enhances the Kindle Experience for users, but I don't like it either. It's not really advertising as Amazon considers the items on that page to be Recommendations and on older Kindle/Fires, you had to turn off Recommendations to not see them
