I left my paperwhite Kindle at a hotel. I've deregistered it, and have been given a second gen. Kindle which I have registered to my account. But I can't see any of my books. We live in Spain, and I have my Spanish books there, but none of the English ones which aren't even appearing on my computer.
Simple question: how do I get them on to my "new" device, please?
Is your new device registered to your account? If not, register it by going to the Kindle's settings (the three dots in the top right hand corner,) and tap on 'settings'. Then tap on 'Your Account' and re-register using the email address and password you use to sign in to Amazon. All books should then either automatically download to your new device or you may need to click on the 'All' (next to the word Downloaded) and anything there which wasn't automatically downloaded can be tapped on and will be downloaded from the cloud.
It shouldn't matter that you are in a different country, it's your account and books purchased there are available worldwide on your registered device.
Hey there @A. Rose. I am sorry to correct you, but registering to a new or correct or alternate Amazon Account will NOT automatically download content to a device.
It may and will show Titles but they will only be titles. One needs to click on that title fomr the "all" display to download it to the device.
If the device is overseas (say Spain or America or France) then lots of downloads will alert the Amazon Nanny Bot that a UK registered device is being used overseas. This contravenes Amazon's licence with the copyright gods and the computer will lock further downloads.
If I have given any wrong or false information please correct or advise! Regards, CW.

it sounds like you registered it while in Spain - this will register it to amazon.es, not amazon.co.uk. If you want to get your UK account books on the Kindle, it would be advantageous to migrate your amazon.co.uk account to amazon.es and then link the two accounts via Family Library (if that exists on amazon.es).
