I have recently bought a new kindle (that was launched in April 2019) in the hopes of some improvements. The purpose was to learn Dutch vocabularies. Ths vocabulary look up while reading was absolutely fantastic.
However I cannot learn them through flash cards because the definition section is empty in the vocabulary builder. I am wasting a lot of time online to get auto translation somehow, but I couldn't. I would like to see dutch definitions there. Does anyone know how to fix this with foreign language? I am highly disappointed with the new Kindle.
1. download the Dutch to English Dictionary from your account (change books to User Guides and Dictionaries and search on Dutch) then click in the Actions [...] button and deliver to your Kindle or by tapping on All instead of Downloaded, then going to the last page of your Home page and tapping on Dictionaries where you'll see the three Dutch Dictionaries (don't select Deutsch because those are German)
2. use Instant Translation (when you long press on a word or phrase, it's one of the three boxes that come up: Wikipedia, Dictionary & Instant Translation)) which requires a wiireless connection.
You can also change dictionaries on the fly by tapping the name of the dictionary when it comes up and tells you no definition found, and selecting another dictionary that's downloaded. I do this all the time with French dictionaries. BTW, I have 51 dictionaries that I can use: X Language, X to English and English to X
