The kinde eReaders are black and white text machines used to read books.
I am not aware of any games that can be played on them.
The Amazon FIRE tablets are full colour tablets that can be used to read books, play music, take photo's and play laods of games.
NOTE: They are NOT set to use the Google PLAY store - they use the Amazon store. If you are mainly interested in games and social media with the occasional book then you would do better buying any Android tablet or Apple device.
Generally, whatever device you buy/use, once you have purchased and downloaded a book to your device it can be read without the use of wifi.
If you buy any tablet and have lots of games on it then your reading pleasure will generally be disrupted by the tablet saying "can not connect to wifi" since it will be trying to update angry birds or flying wombats or other such games. This has nothing to do with your books or the device - it's because games writers are lazy and build bad code.
