Hi K66D,
Welcome to the digital and device forum!
I am sorry you are having this issue with your Kindle e-reader.
Please try the following:
Check the wireless connectivity on your Kindle. If wireless connectivity is not enabled, your Kindle will not automatically connect to 3G (if applicable) or to a Wi-Fi network that you have used before. To learn more, go to Connect to Wi-Fi.
Note: For any Kindle e-reader model 6th generation and newer, use Channel 1-11. Check that your wireless router is set to use a Wi-Fi channel from 1 to 11. Please refer to your internet service provider or the router manufacturer for additional help.
Restart your Kindle and modem and/or router. Restart your device. For instructions on how to restart your Kindle, go to Restart Your Kindle. Turn off your router and/or modem for 30 seconds, and then turn them back on. After your router and/or modem restarts, press and hold the power button on your Kindle until it turns on. Try to connect to your Wi-Fi network again.

Once the software is up to date it should connect. Also make sure your Date and Time settings are right that sometimes causes problems with connecting.
