Last week I set up several hue bulbs directly with my echo plus. Out of curiosity I purchased the hue bridge and set it up today to see what other advanced colour functions I could use. I first unpaired all the bulbs in the Alexa app before pairing a few of them with the hue bridge. I soon realised that I was perfectly happy with my set up before so I unpaired the bulbs with the hue bridge and unplugged it. I then tried to connect the hue bulbs to the echo plus again and they just would not be discovered. I performed the reset hue bulb setting and inputted the serial numbers which did fix the problem for the 4 bulbs that I’d previously paired to the hue bridge... however none of the other bulbs in my house will connect to the echo plus now. Interestingly they all worked before, I didn't pair them to the hue bridge (I tried but they weren't detected strangley) I’ve also reset those and inputted the serial numbers, the bulbs flash but will not be found in the Alexa app. Can anyone help, I'm getting very frustrated by this because it all worked before!
Just fixed this on my system. If you are in a "household", make sure you are logged in as the same both on Echo and your Alexa phone app. The new Echo plus was still registered to my son but I had my profile active on the system. Once I deregistered and reregistered to my own Amazon account, the bulb worked perfectly. (Also make sure you are on the same wi-fi as your phone - we have an extender that could have caused an issue as well.) Not using the Hue bridge.
Hi all, I got the bundle of Echo Plus with Hue light bulb but whatever tip/fix suggested on the forum applied / tried, Alexa won't see it. After resetting (using the Alexa app) the bulb will go off shortly and light up again but still Alexa is not able to discover the Philips Hue light bulb.
It looks like the bridge of Alexa is in shortfall to link with the Hue lightbulb... I don't know why it is offered as a bundle since it seems not to work.
Hi all, I just got it to work by a hard reset of my Alexa Echo Plus. On the bottom of the Echo plus there is a reset button; accessable by paperclip or toothpick.
This reset restarted the initial setup. Then I started up the Alexa app which restored all my skills, settings etc. and when I executed the discover device in home skills, Alexa found the Hue light bulb. It is working now.
