I have tried adding a Hive motion sensor to my Hive hub but this does not show in the Alexa app. I can therefore only control Hive products directly. As most of my lights are Philips Hue and compatible, connected to the Philips hub I have no control.
I don't want to buy the Philips sensor as this is nearly twice the price. I may buy more sensors in the future if I can get this working, but don't really want the price to keep going up that much!
I can control via IFTTT but this is awkward and takes too much time to make adjustments.
Is there a way to see the Hive motion sensor on the Alexa app?
Philips have paid to develop a Hue Sensor app compatible with Amazon. Their price reflects that investment by them.
Hive have not paid to develop a sensor app compatible with Amazon YET. They are cheaper because they have not invested. Prices for either or both products may or may not change over time - or a brand new third technology or a brand new harmonized and co-operating app may be developed.
This is in the hands of 3rds parties - not Amazon.
I have no idea if a similar situation exists when considering alternative technology provided by Google.
