I am thinking of buying a new fire 8 , on current fire 8 i have quite a few downloaded docs in docs . How can I get them to drive? Presumably they will all be lost if I can't move them.
I have found a great Help Page! It is not about transferring to Amazon Drive but from your Kindle Devices. Let us know if that would work for you!
Kindle Personal Documents Service
Kindle Personal Documents Service is a free tool that allows you to send select file types directly to Fire tablets, Kindle e-readers and supported Kindle reading apps registered to your Amazon account. These documents can be sent from an authorised email address or a Send to Kindle application.
Kindle Personal Documents Service is compatible with:
Kindle for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Kindle for Android
Kindle for BlackBerry10
You can send documents to your compatible devices by emailing the documents to your Send to Kindle email address. Your Send to Kindle email address is a unique address that is assigned to you when you register your compatible device. For more information about your Send to Kindle email address, see Using Your Send to Kindle Email Address.
Select the title(s) that you want to deliver to your supported Fire tablet, Kindle e-reader or Kindle reading app and select Deliver.
To remove selected personal documents from the Manage Your Content and Devices page, select the titles that you want to delete and then select Delete. If there are copies already on your device, you will need to delete the document from your device as well.
Kindle Personal Documents Service Fees
Amazon doesn't charge fees for delivery of personal documents to Fire tablets & Kindle e-readers over Wi-Fi, that are transferred via USB or that are delivered to supported Kindle reading apps. However, there is a document processing fee for Kindle Personal Document Service if you use Whispernet on Kindle e-readers.
Fees for Kindle Personal Document Service via Whispernet are based on the size of the file submitted, your country of residence and where you're accessing Whispernet.
For Kindle e-reader and Fire tablet users living in the United Kingdom: Kindle Personal Documents Service fee via Whispernet is £0.20 per megabyte.
For Kindle e-reader and Fire tablet users living outside the United Kingdom: Kindle Personal Documents Service fee via Whispernet is £0.20 per megabyte.
Aggregation of fees for Kindle Personal Documents Service: If you send multiple documents for conversion, consecutive orders that cost less than £5.00 may be combined into one transaction and appear as a single charge.
If possible, we will attempt to deliver your document via Wi-Fi rather than Whispernet; if successful, no document processing fee will be charged.
Under Personal Document Settings select Edit Whispernet Delivery under Whispernet Delivery Options.
Tip: The option to edit your Whispernet delivery options will only appear if you have a Whispernet-ready device registered to your account.
Enter your preferred charge limit and then click Update.
Important: The limit you set is a per document limit. If you send multiple documents, the total aggregated charge for conversion may exceed your per document limit.
Kindle Personal Documents Service is not available via Whispernet in Canada, Japan, Brazil, Australia, Mexico, China and certain other countries. If you reside in one of these countries, we recommend connecting to Wi-Fi to receive your personal documents, or going to Transfer Documents Via USB for information about USB transferring documents to your Fire table or Kindle e-reader.
