I want to use Amazon Photos as a facility to back up all my photos, so I have a spare copy of everything. I'd like it to work something like this:
Photos taken on or received by my phone to be automatically uploaded to the Amazon cloud - but NOT removed from the cloud if I delete them from my phone;
ALL photos (from PC and Android phone) to be stored on my PC and in the Amazon cloud;
Any additions / deletions to photos on my PC to be reflected in the cloud, and vice versa;
Entire photo collection to be viewable on my phone.
I currently have all my photos stored on my PC (in My Pictures). I've uploaded them all to Amazon, enabled sync and put a shortcut to My Pictures in the Amazon Drive folder. If possible, I'd prefer to keep all my photos in the Windows My Pictures folder/ library. I've downloaded the Amazon Photos Android app on my phone.
Behaviour at the moment:
When I delete a picture from my phone, it also disappears from the Amazon cloud;
When I use the web interface to delete one of my phone pictures, it does not disappear from the phone;
Web interface shows photos from my phone and PC;
When I delete a photo from my PC, it does NOT disappear from the web interface;
Android pictures are not showing up on my PC.
I think I have the wrong idea about sync: I was under the impression that every change is mirrored in each location, but it seems that this is not the case. I'd be really grateful if somebody could help me out with what sync actually does, whether I have sync set up properly (behaviour 4 doesn't seem right to me) and whether or not my expectations of what I want to achieve are realistic or not.
