When using Amazon drive, my fans always turn on and the machine is really loud and going crazy. This only happens when the Amazon drive app is turned on?
Is there anything that can be done or is it simply a rubbish app?
HI. I have had similar issues when using Amazon Drive app while using Apple products. I had to delete the app in the end. Although it wasn’t running too hot. This can be caused by a number of problems including hardware. I suggest that you contact Apple to be on the safe side. All the best. 😃
A year ago I tried amazon drive, and found it frequently uses 30-50% CPU on my quad core i7 2.8GHz MSI laptop with NVMe SSD. Recently, I got fed up with constant sync errors with onedrive, so tried amazon drive again. In the last year they have still haven't fixed it. It makes my machine run like a 286, and I have to kill it using the task manager on a daily basis. Its unusable.
I've noticed this in the last few weeks. Just turn my PC on, don't open anything and the fan's whirring away. Looking at it now Amazon Drive is taking up 35% of CPU (out of around 39% in total use) so stopped the process. Opened up my Amazon Drive file and it works fine and the fan doesn't go into overdrive.
Same here. Intense usage of cpu, up to 80%, loud fans etc. I am running a windows 10 system, Intel i7 7500U with 8Gb DDR4 RAM. Have not found a way to fix it except killing the app which is not really productive since I want to get my data synced and saved.
