Recently got an Echo & I want to know how to upload my 250 songs to the cloud so I can request them through Alexa. I've managed to import my tracks into the amazon music app but there's no option to upload to the cloud. A lot of the video tutorials on youtube are American and their layout seems different to ours. On my pc app it should have an upload feature on the right hand side tool bar for this but it's not there? Any help would be great
That's a real shame, I have a hell of a lot of music i'd hoped I could upload and request with Alexa :( Do you know if there's any other way of getting my personal music so it can be used with Alexa? Don't really fancy signing up to spotify as well a prime.
You can still opt for the paid service if you're quick and upload to that. However, although the help page says the facility will remain if you keep renewing, there's no telling when even that service will be pulled completely and doesn't inspire confidence. This seems to be a own goal for Amazon, especially as google is offering 50,000 upload songs free. If I was looking at the two offerings again, I doubt I'd see Amazons seemingly petty restriction as a selling point :(
As a paid plan subscriber, it's equally galling that Amazon haven't notified us about the change - I wouldn't be surprised to find everyone's auto-renew setting is reset over the coming months - or am I just be too cynical?
Snip from help page:
Paid 250,000 Song Storage Plan
While you remain a paid member, you retain the ability to upload music and renew your subscription.
If your current storage plan expires without being renewed, you won’t have the option to re-start your subscription.
I joined as a paid member to get this option but it's not there. I am really disappointed by this as I also have music I have recorded myself which I would like to be able to play om my Echo. I wonder if anyone actually reads these pages and might respond?
BlueOfTheNight, thanks for that really helpful comment, but who's asked for free? I already pay amazon for services...
not looking for free, looking for reliable, they're ending any upload service, 250 free or 250000 paid, i was going to sign up for Music Unlimited with ONE of the benefits being the ability to upload my sons existing music so we don't have to maintain two libraries or juggle devices.
the fact that Amazon's own support website still has the Upload instructions shows how this has kinda gone under the radar
