I've got a lot of music stored on my phone but I don't want to be able to play any of it in the Amazon Music App.
Is it possible to just have the music I download via the Amazon Prime App when I change to "Offline Mode"?
I'm on Android if that makes a difference.
Welcome to the Forums! Offline Music Mode in the Amazon Music app allows you to only play music that has been downloaded to the device. To enable it on your Android device select My Music from the bottom menu, then tap the menu next to the gear icon. Select Offline Music from the drop-down menu. To enable streaming, select Online Music in the same menu.
Unfortunately, switching to "Offline music" shows both "Your downloads and device music" and I was hoping to be able to have access to just my downloads.
It feels like a catch 22, in that I can't download any Amazon Prime music to my phone without giving it access to the files and folders on my device, but as soon as I do that, it then populates the offline music with all my device music, which slows everything down and makes it harder to find the music I've downloaded.
Really depends on what phone you have. I also have a lot of music downloaded from Amazon Music.
Whilst I download from the Amazon app, I can play everything through the Samsung music app which was installed when I bought the phone. Alternatively you can play your music through the Google Music app. Both apps mentioned only play downloaded music unless you buy music from them. Check your phone - you should have a music player installed. Beware the free player apps in the Amazon Appstore. They may be free but they bombard you with ads......
I might have misunderstood your response (or not explained myself very well) but I'm not looking for an alternative music app. I use the GoneMad Music app to play all the music I own that I've uploaded on to my phone.
My question was, is there a way to use the Amazon Music App on Android to limit the "Offline music" to only show the music I have download as part of my Amazon Prime subscription? (rather than also showing all the music that I own myself that I've uploaded on to the phone).
Unfortunately yes, the only filter options that I can see are: "Online Music" and "Offline Music: Your downloads and device music".
If you click the second option, I then just get the chance to sort by Playlists, Artists, Albums, Songs and Genres.
There is a "Recents" option outside "My Music" which has a "Downloaded" but it's just the song view sorted chronologically by when something was added, either from when it first scanned by phone or when I downloaded something. My guess from the "Recents" title is that these tracks will gradually disappear as I've only recently added the Amazon Music App.
